The nature trust have nature trails and walks all over the UK. They are finding that their members want to know a bit more about the areas they are walking through, about the history and the environment.


Although there are information signs and trail markers along the route they are finding that they do not appeal to the younger walkers who seem to spend most of their time with headphones on. Additionally updating these signs is a costly and time consuming business.


Via the hyperTOUCH platform the nature trust can create a 2D bar code and NFC campaign for each key location along the route. Associated with each campaign is a 2 minute audio commentary describing the history of the site and the flora and fauna to look out for during that season. TAGs and bar codes are duly produced and embedded in the markers along the route.


A walker simply has to touch their phone to the maker and they will instantly receive an audio commentary. Even the teenagers like it as they can leave their headphones in.
